The Wizard
I guess one could say that I have lived a very normal life. But little do they know that I harbor a shrine that explains my obsession. This page is my little shrine devoted to The Wizard. This movie can turn any Sega-phreak, 64-head, or PS-lacky into a devoted a fan. After all, I don't see any movies that are devoted to these new-age systems. Then again, The Wizard is more than an advertisement. It's a veritable feel-good movie that shows that anyone can pick up chicks by carrying a traumitized boy and a very 80's-esque wardrobe, as well as being a uber-male by playing Super Mario Brothers. This movie could probably be used against Nintendo as the official brain-washing motion-picture (Oh, there was also Super Mario Brothers: The Movie) that stole millions from desperate parents screaming "HOW THE HELL DO WE GET OUT OF HERE???!!!" Truth was, the parents never did get out of the movie theater, because after the opening scene they were enchanted. Oh sure, when they got home, they can tell you they were just testing the Nintendo to make sure it was working all they want, we knew what was happening. But as the tide of the original Nintendo receded, so did the parent's (as well as the children's) playing time. The Wizard waded back into the sea of Hollywood, no longer the catch of the day, and of course they made a version on videocassette and LaserDisc (he he, Laserdisc sucked). But still, the movie would be a rarity to find. Now, this movie can sometimes be seen on Encore (it's how I found me a copy of that special film) with out editing or ads, or Nickelodean, who thought it would be funny to castrate all the funny parts out of the movie. Oh, I guess I'm getting a little ahead of myself, so I'll pass the mic to the articles that make this shrine great.
